| How nervous were you on the day? |
"Surprisingly, very nervous and overwhelmed. So much so I struggled with the vows, emotions almost got the better of me." |
"A lot less nervous than I had expected. I was nervous whilst waiting for it to begin, but once I arrived at the venue I loved every minute." |
| Which moment or event from your wedding day stands out from the rest? |
"The Buddhist ceremony was both unusual and special, to have the union blessed by 5 chanting monks was pretty spectacular. We then had a secular ceremony in a large tropical garden which was beautifully decorated with foliage and flowers, this gave my Dad the opportunity to give me away and walk me down the aisle to The Bridal March. Our evening entertainment of Thai musicians and dancers was also amazing. The whole day infact! It completely and utterly surpassed all my expectations! I wish I could go back and do the whole thing again!" |
"At the time that the monks chanted I shut my eyes and tried to meditate. I felt like I was being elevated to a higher place. It was an incredible feeling that made me feel intensely emotional." |
| Did the bride get carried over the threshold and how did it feel? |
"My new husband carried me over the threshold. Which was no mean feat after a 17 hour journey from Bangkok with an additional hours drive from Manchester airport." |
"I remember doing it. I just can't quite remember where, what with the Bangkok legalities, Koh Samui ceremony and Coventry reception. I think my mind is starting to go." |
| Would you ever renew your vows? |
"Yes, any excuse to go back to the same beautiful location. That would give us the chance to do it all again!" |
"Could do. An informal gathering in Koh Samui would be possible, but I wouldn't want to bother the monks again." |
| Do you feel different now that you are married? |
"Happier! More secure and content that I found the man of my dreams and married him!" |
"I feel extremely content. It seems natural living with Claire and she has become a very tolerant person, and boy does she need to be living with me." |
| Has anything changed since you got married? |
"Just my bank details, driving licence etc...." |
"Yes. My suntan has gone and I have become a pale spotty Brit again." |
| Is there anything that you would like to change about your partner, and if so, what? |
"No, I respect who he is as a person and most of what he believes in." |
"It would be good if you she could find a hobby to occupy herself during those boring moments (Yes, I can be boring). Other than that, no" |
| If you could have invited a famous person to your wedding, who would it have been and why? |
"Either the Dalai Lama or John Lennon, both are my new husbands heroes. To capture the look on his face if either had put in an appearance would have been the icing on the cake, of our perfect day!" |
"I've taken a sneeky peek at Claire's answer and I would have to agree with both of her fine choices. Man, can you imagine the wedding photos!" |
